How to search and install or add new plugins using WordPress platform for website

Plugins are great features on WordPress using for personal or business website. It is additional functionality to the site accordingly to add or install as per the site user requirements. A simple WordPress website without plugin might not include all the features but adding third-party plugins let the site owner get more features.

Following are the two different ways to install or upload plugin on the WordPress website.

Add Plugins using Search option

Using search option to search for third-party plugin from WordPress Library

  1. Open WordPress wp-admin http://weband.co.uk/portfolios/bitcoinist Dashboard
  2. Go to Plugins > go site Add new
  3. Search for Plugin and hit enter
  4. Click on Install now to install the Plugin

Add Plugins using Upload Plugin option

  1. Open WordPress Dashboard
  2. Go to Plugins > Add new
  3. Click Upload Plugin to Choose file > Install now
  4. Next confirmation page showing installation of Plugin

View Install Plugins on WordPress

  1. Open WordPress Dashboard
  2. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins
  3. Plugin page showing  list of all installed / Active / Deactivate Plugins

 

Activate / Deactivate / Delete WordPress Plugins

After adding or installing the plugins, the site owner needs to activate the Plugin. Below are furthermore steps if any plugin is not in needs anymore and to deactivate. For deletion, it requires first to deactivate and then delete as the active plugin is not possible to remove.

Activate Plugin

  1. Open WordPress Dashboard
  2. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins
  3. Scroll down to list of Plugins and click Activate

Deactivate Plugin

  1. Open WordPress Dashboard
  2. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins
  3. Scroll down to list of Plugins and click Deactivate

Delete Plugin

  1. Open WordPress Dashboard
  2. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins
  3. Scroll down to list of Plugins and click Delete
